Starship Lens

The Lunarians' ship: a biconvex lens of moonstone and titanium with a huge glass at its heart and a ring of small lenses round the rim, like the towers of Stillwatch. Lunarians do not fly — they look; the Lens looks through stone: its scanner reaches three times as far and sees caches deep inside an asteroid. It hovers on moonstone rings, with no flame at all.
