Iris Mite

A tiny mite with one enormous eye. It scurries along the fibers of the iris, drinks light through the beads of its feelers and keeps it in a little lantern on its back, and it blinks back at anyone who looks at it. Harmless and terribly shy: take one step closer and the whole flock scatters into the grooves.
