Spore Puff

A puffball that tore loose from the mycelium and drifts on its own spore breath, trailing its rootlets. It is gentle until struck: then it swells like a pufferfish and bursts into a cloud of spores that burns the throat. The bubbles circling it are spores still ripening, and each will grow into a new puff.
