Under-Ice Whale

A giant of the ocean under the ice of Europa. It has never seen the Sun: all the light it knows is its own — the threads in its throat, the row of lamps along its flanks, the constellation on its back. It scrapes the glowing algae off the underside of the shell and sings; the song carries through the whole sea.
