A Catchment gives a Flux Workbench the flux of nine pieces of land instead of one: costly recipes no longer drain the workbench's own spot. Flux does not stand still: underground it runs in veins, like water. A Catchment is a stone well where the veins of all the land around drain together; set it beside a Flux Workbench.

The Catchment takes more where the land is fuller and dries the country evenly instead of draining the nearest piece to the bottom. The flux in the well is a gauge: high means the land around is full, at the very bottom it has run dry. Above the well hangs a diviner's pendulum of opaline; when the workbench crafts, the veins run to it.
