Diviner's Spectacles
To see what is in a Crucible without taking up the Loupe.

The Flux Workbench
Pages of the entry
The spectacles show what a Crucible, a vessel or a device holds — with no Loupe in hand: your hands stay free for the work. Diviners of old sought water with a willow fork; a fluxionist wears spectacles: opal lenses in a brass frame with a flux coil on the bridge. Look through them at a Crucible, and what it holds rises as a bowl of runes. To everything else the spectacles keep quiet: the flux of the land, the bed and the currents of things are the Loupe's work.
The spectacles cannot read: new currents, notes and entries still come only from the Loupe. But your hands are free and your view is clear: while you look at nothing in particular, the spectacles show nothing — and at a crucible that is worth a lot.
