A Sky Cork is the way up when the way back is lost: from a deep cave, a mine or a pit it carries you straight up to the first place under the open sky above you, like a cork from the bottom. Hold right-click for a second and a half and stand still while bubbles of light rise around you; step away and the cork settles back, whole. An opened cork is used up.

The cork lifts you only up, in the same column you stand in — onto the ground, a treetop or the surface of water — and never with a random jump aside. Where there is no sky — in the Nether, the Lees, the Stillness, a Bower under its winding and the Meanders — it will not open; nor will it where fire, lava or no room to stand waits above. A line will tell you why.
