Settings
Mod graphics, mod sounds, event banners, runes on icons, Ignore shaders and the mod's keys.
The mod's settings live on this computer: the server knows nothing of them, and a change takes effect at once, without a restart.
Mod graphics
Mod graphics is how richly the mod draws its effects: low, medium or high. The Codex asks for it the first time you open it and shows a live example of every level with a tip for your graphics card. Medium is made to take no more than a tenth of your frame rate. Danger signs — murk and eddies — are visible at every level.
Where to change it:
- with the gear in the Codex;
- in Mod Menu (Fabric) or with the Config button in the NeoForge mod list;
- with the mod's line in the game's video settings (and on the mod's page in Sodium's settings).
Toggles
- Mod sounds — the mod’s own sounds instead of the game sounds picked for it; off by default.
- Event banners — a world event's name above the sky; when off, the event arrives as a line and a sound.
- Runes on icons — current runes on item icons while Shift is held.
Ignore shaders
With a shader pack (Iris) the mod draws its screen effects as light layers, and its own shaders in the world and its signs in the sky around the shader pack: that way they look as intended. Ignore shaders is at your own risk: the mod draws everything as it does without a shader pack — screen effects of strong moments, its own shaders in the world, signs in the sky. The shader pack does not know these drawings, so some may look wrong (neon instead of brass, dark or bright patches), but the game won't crash because of it.
- The toggle is in the mod settings, below the graphics cards; it shows only when Iris (or Oculus) is installed. Turning it on asks for a confirmation, turning it off is instant; no restart is needed. Off by default.
- On the mod's page in Sodium's settings there is an "Ignore shaders…" button: it opens the mod settings with the same question.
- If the shader pack refuses one of the mod's drawings, the mod goes back to light layers by itself until the game restarts, and the toggle says "off: shaders refused it".
- The mod's own worlds where shader packs do not apply at all (the Lees, the Stillness, the Quickstream, the Bower) are not changed by the toggle: everything there is already drawn as without a shader pack.
