Chorus Drifter

A chorus bush that tore loose from the End together with a clod of end stone and learned to sail: under the clod it carries floats full of haze and a fringe of roots that catch the currents of the void. They drift in a line along a current, three to five of them. The ripe pods hold what a chorus fruit holds: brush against the bush and you are thrown forward. Pilots of the Interrift call it the chorus skip and hop down a line of drifters like stepping stones.
