0.22.0 — Minecraft 1.21.1

Minecraft 26.3 and 1.21.1 · Fabric and NeoForge · Java 25 / Java 21

Fluxion now runs on Minecraft 1.21.1 as well — with the same content, and with mods that never came out for 26.3.

New

  • Minecraft 1.21.1. Four files now: 26.3 and 1.21.1, each for Fabric and NeoForge, from one codebase — every future update reaches both versions together. On 1.21.1 you need Java 21, Fabric Loader 0.20.1 with Fabric API 0.116.17 or NeoForge 21.1.265, GeckoLib 4.9.3 and TerraBlender 4.1.0.8.
  • Blocks from 26.x on 1.21.1. Where Fluxion builds on things 1.21.1 does not have, the 1.21.1 files bring their own that behave as in 26.3: pale oak and poplar wood (full sets and saplings; poplar leaves come yellow, orange or red), short and tall dry grass, pale moss with its carpet and hanging moss, the copper nugget, copper tools, copper armor and copper horse armor. They grow and generate where the mod puts them on 26.3 and fit the same recipes.
  • Dappled Forest and Pale Garden on 1.21.1. All of this can now be found in survival just as on 26.3: poplars in three colors grow in the Dappled Forest, pale oak with pale and hanging moss in the Pale Garden (both biomes generate where they do on 26.3 — on cool dry plains and on humid dark forest plateaus), dry grass in deserts and badlands, copper horse armor lies in the same chests of dungeons, temples, fortresses, End cities and weaponsmiths, and the wandering trader sells pale oak and poplar saplings and logs, pale and hanging moss and dry grass, as on 26.3.
  • Mechanics — a branch for Create (1.21.1, NeoForge, Create 6.0.10). The Stream Wheel turns shafts with your chunk's flux (twice as fast where a Gauge Stone speeds the flux); the Windlass gives shaft power to the Stamp Mill, the Molder, the Sluice Box and the Pump; the Crucible Stirrer sinks solids even over a gentle heat; the Drip Tap fills vials on belts and depots, and the Decanting Trough pours them back into vessels, the Crucible and the Gyre. The Mechanical Arm tends Confluence plinths, the Crucible and workshop devices; an Ember Shard superheats a blaze burner; fans blowing through Orbs wear, mend, dry, set and rinse blocks; Create's machines crush, press and mix the mod's materials. Diviner's Spectacles work as engineer's goggles, display boards show chunk flux and held currents, six Ponder scenes and a Codex tab with 13 entries explain it all.
  • Content branches on 1.21.1: Energistics (Applied Energistics 2 19, NeoForge), Spirits (Occultism, both loaders) and Kitchen of Currents (Farmer's Delight — on 1.21.1 on both loaders: the official mod on NeoForge, Refabricated on Fabric).
  • Mods that exist only on 1.21.1:
    • EMI — its own pages for every machine of the mod, currents as their own stacks (with favorites);
    • WTHIT — the same lines as Jade: distillate, heat, murk, currents;
    • Accessories — slots for the mod's amulets, rings and belts; Diviner's Spectacles on the face look as in the helmet;
    • Embeddium (NeoForge) — the Mod Graphics page in its video settings;
    • ModernFix — tested alongside the mod.
  • Trinket slots on Fabric 1.21.1 come from Trinkets 3.10 (Trinkets Updated has no 1.21.1 build), on NeoForge — from Curios (and Accessories).

Fixed

  • Overworld rain started and stopped about five times too often on 26.3: the mod's worlds with their own sky also moved the weather clock.
  • Hanging on a Grapnel for more than four seconds got you kicked from a dedicated server for flying.
  • The light of strong moments (the sky darkening over a Breach) was measured from the player instead of the camera: with camera mods the sky went darker than it should.
  • Items brought back by the Recall Circle could be picked up by any player standing nearby; now only by their owner.
  • When the Spillover was stopped by command, a player riding it could be kicked from a dedicated server for flying while the stream faded.
  • On NeoForge 1.21.1 the server kicked players for flying during any slow fall longer than four seconds (a NeoForge 21.1 bug that also hits the game's own Slow Falling): the mod restores the game's check there.

What to do

  • Pick the file for your game version and loader — the name says both: …-fabric-26.3-0.22.0.jar, …-neoforge-1.21.1-0.22.0.jar.
  • On 26.3, replace the 0.21.1 jar with the 0.22.0 one: worlds carry over, the required mods stay the same.
  • A world cannot move between 26.3 and 1.21.1: the game does not open worlds from a newer version.
  • The branches need their mods: Applied Energistics 2 19 (NeoForge), Occultism (with what it asks for — Modonomicon, SmartBrainLib), Farmer's Delight, Create 6.0.10 (NeoForge 1.21.1).

Known limits

  • Create has no build for 26.3 and none for Fabric 1.21.1: there the Mechanics items stay in the game with a red «Requires mod» line. Applied Energistics 2 has no Fabric build for either version.
  • EMI (official), WTHIT, Accessories, Embeddium and ModernFix have no 26.3 builds — they work on 1.21.1 only. Oculus has no 1.21.1 build: shader packs on NeoForge 1.21.1 go through Iris with Sodium.
  • Small differences on 1.21.1: the pale moss carpet has no side walls, dry grass and pale moss have no ambient sounds, copper armor sounds like iron when put on, poplars grow fancy-oak crowns.

0.21.1 — the first public release

Everything below is new.

Reading the world

  • 42 currents on the Wheel: four Sources, two Poles and everything they fold into — Tempo, Echo, Venom and more.
  • Every chunk has its own flux. Rough work leaves murk; murk settles into mire that spreads, rots blocks and breeds creatures.
  • The Loupe, Diviner's Spectacles and the Codex of Currents: a hand-drawn book of chapters, entries, recipes, structure ghosts you can build from (by key, button or Flux Trowel), and the Reckoning Desk puzzle.
  • Seven aptitudes that grow from study and victories; Hour Marks (Noon, Full Moon and others) taken under the sky and copied at the Flux Workbench.
  • Hold Shift in an inventory to see items' currents on their icons.

Alchemy

  • The Crucible: dissolve, brew, catalysts, heat and clashes of opposite currents.
  • Vessels, siphons and pouring between vessels by hand; the Retort, Mixing Vat, Separator, Brewing Tower and its Abacus, Atomizer, Settling and Druse Vats; Orbs of the Sources and Poles.
  • Game potions and new ones brewed from currents.

Artifice and devices

  • The Flux Workbench and its devices: Firefly Lantern, Charging Basin, Flux Mill (flux as energy for other mods), Flux Forge and Gale Fan, Molder, the Driftway lift for many floors, the Memory Obelisk, Through-Mirrors, Linked Vessels.
  • Sixteen totems that lay a law on an area, circles in ink on Flowstone, living decor that glows and moves.
  • Carrying and building helpers: the Lined Satchel, the Gorge Ring, the Bundling Cord, the Stand-in, the Ferrystone, the Swirl and more.

Spells

  • The Conduit and its lenses from the Lens Grinder; the lens wheel on G.
  • The Pantograph: draw your own spell as a tracery and cut it into a lens.
  • Current forms: drink a Source and take its form for three minutes.

Confluence

  • The infusion altar of plinths, weirs and steady pours, with eddies and real failure; weavings, inscriptions and the game's own enchantments by a new route.

Skeins and the Bower

  • Skeins of living light: tap, feed, carry on a Spindle, merge and fight with neighbors; greedy ones bite.
  • The Bower: open a dense skein with an Embroidery Hoop and enter your own workshop world inside it.

Worlds and places

  • Overworld biomes: Sanguine Weald, Honeyfall Grove, Inkpine Forest, Smolderwood, Rustling Fens, Hourless Wood, Stagnant Backwater.
  • The Biome Converter, and three biomes only it can grow: Threadwood, Halo Meadow, Simmering Dell.
  • New worlds: the Stillness, the Lees, the Quickstream and the Meanders — with their own creatures, places and guardians.
  • Reckoner ruins, Gauge Stones, cult camps and raids, world events, new village professions, Snagling camps.
  • Bosses and guardians, and the Restart — a finale that thaws the Stillness once per world.

Gear

  • Armor sets, each with its own abilities; weapons with abilities; trinkets for Trinkets Updated and Curios; armor trims of our own that also fit the game's armor.

Compatibility

  • JEI, REI, EMI (through JEI), Jade, Mod Menu, Trinkets Updated, Curios, Sodium, Iris; Terralith without setup.
  • Content branches: Applied Energistics 2 (NeoForge), Farmer's Delight (Fabric), Occultism.

Known limits

  • AE2 has no Fabric build for 26.3: its branch shows «Requires mod» on Fabric.
  • The NeoForge port of Farmer's Delight does not load on 26.3; the branch works on Fabric with Farmer's Delight Refabricated.
  • Create compatibility waits for an official Create build for 26.3.
  • TerraBlender for 26.3 is still in beta.
