Assembling Drives

Create's sequenced assembly builds drives without flux — from the same things the Flux Workbench takes. A Simple Drive: an iron ingot, and deployers put on two copper ingots, fluxsteel wire and redstone; two drives come out. A Compound Drive: a fluxsteel ingot, two Simple Drives, two speculum sheets, a Lattice shard and the press.

The Lattice shard stands in for flux and the Lattice of the place — as at a Flux Workbench where Lattice does not flow. An incomplete drive between the steps is a transitional thing: taken off the belt, it is good for nothing.
