Grapnel

The Grapnel lifts and carries you: wherever the hook catches, the cord pulls you there — up a cliff, across a chasm, to a cave ceiling. A three-pronged hook on a fluxsteel shank, its cord on a drive-reel. Throw it — wherever it catches on stone or wood, the cord reels you there while the Grapnel is in your hand. Once there, you hang under the hook, and the cord slowly slips down. Use it again to let go.

A throw costs charge: the Charging Basin fills the Grapnel. An empty Grapnel only clicks.
