A blaze burner under a Crucible: kindled — a gentle heat, superheated with blaze cake — a strong one, smouldering — cold; a lit blaze burner (fire without a blaze) — a gentle heat. An Ember Orb heats the boiler of a Create steam engine like magma, and an encased fan blowing through an Ember Orb smelts things as if through lava — light without fire or smoke.
An Ember shard is fuel for a blaze burner: thrown in, it superheats it like a blaze cake for 80 seconds (a cake — 160). The Ember crystals growing on your shard farm feed the mixer that needs a strong heat.
An encased fan blowing nose-first into a Flux Forge tuyere and turning at 32 RPM or more counts as a Gale Fan: it adds to the forge's pace like bellows and does for blowing iron. Bellows and fans together — no more than three: there are three tuyeres.
