A spice is a pinch of a current from a herb: season any food with it on a crafting table, like Current Grit, and whoever eats it gets the current's effect — 15 seconds per pinch. Ember Pepper — Ember, Fire Resistance; Dried Rippleleaf — Tide, Water Breathing; Lumenash Pollen — Gale, Slow Falling; Dried Glowbloom — Gleam, Night Vision.
Pinches combine by the Wheel, as in a Crucible: Ember Pepper with Lumenash Pollen makes Spark, strength; Rippleleaf with Pollen makes Drift, speed; Ember and Tide hiss, but together give Bloom — healing at half strength. Up to three pinches on a food; spices and Grit can be mixed.
How to get them: a Farmer's Delight knife on a cutting board grinds an Emberbell, cuts a Rippleleaf and a Glowbloom and shakes the pollen from Lumenash Catkins — two pinches per herb. The pot needs spices too: Ember Pepper for Artificer's Roast and Wayfarer's Feast, Rippleleaf for Slow Broth and Wayfarer's Feast, Pollen for Diviner's Tea and Diviners' Feast.
