A Memory Vessel keeps your experience safe: experience orbs within eight blocks flow to its neck and sink in — up to thirty levels' worth. Put it by a farm or wherever creatures fall, and no experience is lost while you are away. Right-click it with an empty hand and it gives you experience up to your next level; sneak, and it gives all of it.
Broken by hand, the vessel carries its experience along and keeps it when placed again; shattered by an explosion, it spills it out as orbs. A player close by takes orbs before the vessel does: an orb flies to the nearest. A comparator reads how full the vessel is.
The vessel is a good neighbor. Beside a Reckoning Desk it gives the Echo of Readings technique: the vessel's experience pays for a fork and a lock on a Riverbed board, and your notes stay whole. By an enchanting table it counts as a bookshelf.
A Frozen Thought sits in the vessel's neck — it froze along with a Laggard and remembers what was not its own. Confluence teaches it to remember yours too: experience that sinks into the jar becomes a pale light, and the thought's amber thread reaches down to it as to its own.
