Reckoner Records are ready-made knowledge: a Record you read passes straight into the Codex as notes of its own chapters, and those notes study entries. The Reckoners wrote down everything they measured: on birch bark, on clay tablets, in knots on a cord, in thread on cloth. Their Records still lie in the coffers of locks and on the shelves of archives.

A Gauge Stone gives up a Channel Record, tally tablets lie in the locks, woven records and drive drawings in the archives; an Opaline Inclusion is now and then found in opaline ore. A Knotted Cord is their writing in knots: read it with the Loupe.
