With Occultism the spirits work for a fluxionist too. Occultism rituals bind them into flux devices: a foliot carries distillate, a djinni spins a skein, an afrit heats a Crucible and thaws the Stillness, a marid keeps the riverbed. A Spiritcatcher gathers their trail into distillate, Occultism miners and crushers bring flux ores, and the Loupe sees the Otherworld through its veil.
A spirit is a current of Soul that flows by itself and did not freeze in the Great Stilling. The Loupe reads spirits like anything alive: a foliot holds Soul and Gale, a djinni Weave, an afrit Ember, a marid Halo; an unbound spirit carries murk. Each familiar carries its own current beside Soul.
