Survey

Survey strikes not a block but a layer: that is how an ore vein is taken, a floor relaid and a wall opened. It is Craft on a lens: the action falls on every block of the same kind as the one you look at, joined to it across the face you struck. Its levels are spread: three, five, seven blocks across. You see the frame of what is marked.

Survey with Excavate lifts a layer of ore or earth; with Swap it relays a floor; with Washout it opens a whole wall. With Branch it takes the layer behind as well. On a creature, Survey strikes like a Palm. Next: "Carrier Conjunctions".
