The Threadwood is a garden of skeins and yarn. A skein in the wood winds its native thread twice: a second share for the same work, always. Fray flows here by itself — the Flux Workbench asks for no Fray shards. And only here is yarn gathered: Glowsilk from cocoons, Current Hanks and Tangled Thread (now and then the Snagling Peddler brings a hank or two). A hank carries Shift — the Converter's feed, so the wood feeds the growth of the next place.
How to gather. Shears on a Glow Cocoon that has silk (it is fluffy and sparks more often): two Glowsilk, the cocoon stays and glows, and its silk grows back in about half an hour — only in the wood. A Reeler drops a Current Hank every 5–10 minutes; don't hit it — it answers with its reel. At night under the canopy Tangles drop Tangled Thread. All three are woven into Weavecloth.
The Silk Spindle is a Spindle with Weavecloth on a crafting table; a wound skein passes to it whole. It winds twice as fast and carries a skein with no loss: a plain Spindle loses an eighth of the threads to murk with every rewinding.
The Tow Sash is a belt of thrift: flux crafting and casting take 10% less flux, and at a Confluence it now and then spares a side plinth's thing. It grows with the flux you spend — up to 14%. It is fused on an Opaline Belt with Weavecloth, a Current Hank and Glowsilk.
What it is grown with: Shift, Weave and Gloom. Spinner Elms stand close, their flat crowns join and close the sky; Current Threads hang from beneath, cocoons glow on the trunks, and underfoot lie near-black Tow Turf, Teasel, Cottongrass and Threadcap. The riverbed is 120. Skeins wind themselves in the wood more often than in the forests of the world.
Where Weave thickens, the trees spin it like a spinner spins tow, and a snapped thread does not fall — it curls into a Tangle. The currents of the place are Weave, Shift, Gloom, Soul and Halo.
