A towpath speeds your way and carries things by itself, and a boundary keeps monsters and automatons behind a line. A towpath is paving of deepslate flags with a channel in the middle; Drift flux runs along the channel. Whoever walks with the current is carried faster than running; whoever walks against it bogs down. Things float along by themselves. Lay it with the channel pointing where it should flow; a sneaking walker stands firm.
Boundary stones are set in pairs — at one height, in one line, no farther than sixteen blocks apart. Between them a boundary stretches — a veil of Ward two blocks high. To monsters and automatons it is a wall, while people, animals and things pass through it: a boundary keeps an automaton in its yard. A Grapnel hook catches on it. Take a stone away and the boundary fades.
