A novice of the Order of the Still Hour who gave away his own Tempo: a wound brass mechanism ticks in his chest. While wound, he strikes in a series of three quick blows; then he stands and unwinds, his chest doors open, and the mechanism takes half again as much damage. When he dies, his escapement leaps free.
