Honeyfall Grove

atmospheric biome· The Overworld

The Honeyfall Grove gives Tempo — a rare current — straight off the trees. An amber bead swells on the ripe bark of a honey maple: take it with an empty hand — that is honey resin (Tempo 2, Craft 1). The scar beads again in about half an hour to an hour. Only grown maples give resin: a log placed by hand does not. At dusk the beads glow, so ripe maples show from afar. Tempo goes into freshet steel in the Crucible, the Quickened Thought of automata, the Tempo glyph and the gear of the hour.

Clockmakers' ObservatoryClockmakers' ObservatoryThe ruin of a round tower where the Reckoners' clockmakers measured Tempo under a copper dome. They slowed it to count it, and the grove never caught up: here it is always the last hour of autumn.
Fluxionist's HomesteadFluxionist's HomesteadA fluxionist settled in the quiet warm grove after the clockmakers left it, built a timbered house with amber windows and a garden by the stream, and left in turn, the workbench in the shed never woken.
