The Hourless Wood gives Still without the Stillness. When it rains, the rain does not fall here but hangs in beads: an empty bottle raised under the open sky takes a Halted Drop (Still 2, Tide 1) — for the Crucible and for the flame of the Lull Lamp, whose light never flickers. Lullstone and the glass leaves of halted birches make a slate-blue house with amber light. Halted caravans stand on the old roads: their chests hold goods, Frozen Thoughts, the Order's writings and, rarely, Still Grains.

Halted CaravanA caravan stopped mid-step on an old road when the Stillness tore away from the world. A wheel and a crate still hang in the air where they flew; those who walked with it stand by the road, a step behind the hour.
