The Steward makes Confluences on order from an AE2 terminal. Set it by the altar, within 8 blocks of the central plinth, with an AE2 cable, and beside it a Pattern Provider with a processing pattern: the Confluence items (centre and sides) — what is made. The pattern needs no distillate: the Heart draws it itself — from vessels and a Confluence Provider.
Given an order, the Steward lays the centre on the central plinth and the rest on free side plinths in an even ring, waits until the Heart's reckoning says "enough" or "barely", and touches the Heart for whoever set it down — with their knowledge, their calm, their boons. What is made goes into the network, and the AE2 order is done.
It bends no rules: it never starts against the reckoning, waits for a Heart woken with quickdust, and starts only while whoever set it down is in the game. If an eddy knocks an item off, it picks it up by the altar and lays it back on the same plinth. If the Confluence fails, what is left on the plinths and by the altar goes into the network too. The Loupe on the Steward says what it waits for.
