Crystal Tapper

A Crystal Tapper harvests shards by itself: it cuts a grown crystal back and lets it regrow — by full land, a harvest without end. It faces a current crystal with its chisel and cuts it back to a large bud: the shard goes into the box behind it, and the land pays two flux for the cut. The bud grows back on its own, on the land's flux.

A tapper takes only the surplus: in a chunk whose flux is below its bed, it stands still. Putting one in a dry place is pointless — by a river or a willow it works tirelessly. A redstone signal stops it.
