Currents are the language of every craft: the Crucible brews from them, Flux Workbench recipes ask for them, the Conduit strikes with them, and the Wheel tells what combines with what. Forty-two currents — forty-two kinds of flux. Four of them are the Springs, the elements of the Wheel. Each passes into its neighbor: the tide carries silt and strata settle; strata warm and ember is born; ember lifts the air and a gale blows; the gale brings rain, and the tide returns.
Lattice and Fray are not elements but Poles: the directions a current is pulled in. Lattice gathers, Fray wears away. Every other current is made of two: Ember with Lattice gives Gleam, Tide with Ember gives Bloom, life itself.
Neighbors on the Wheel blend more easily than opposites — that will matter at the Crucible. The Codex keeps every current you reveal on the Wheel page.
