The Flux Sheath is a shield over your armor: golden hearts of absorption that refill from the land's flux. Each level of the Sheath on a piece of armor or a trinket setting gives half a heart of shield; everything you wear together gives no more than ten hearts. The shield refills half a heart every two seconds for one unit of the flux of the chunk under your feet; in a murky chunk, where murk is above a third of the bed, it does not charge, and once broken through it keeps still for five seconds.
The Sheath is written by Inscription: the thing on the central plinth, around it two pinches of quickdust and one opaline for each level above the first; Ward and Halo in the vessels, doubling with each level. The Sheath goes no higher than level five; it can be written into a book too, and the book goes onto a thing at an anvil.
