The Mute Bell is the master of the Bell Tower in the Stillness; defeating it gives its Bell Tongue and a Hubstone of three or four spokes. This bell tolled the Great Stilling and swallowed its own peal, and every sound around it with it. It hangs from the beam at the top of the Bell Tower; come close and it wakes. Its hall is as quiet as deep water: watch rather than listen, and jump the silent rings on the floor.
The Bell Tongue weaves into armor as Resonance: a loud blow — an explosion, a Warden's sonic boom or lightning — is swallowed whole, as the Bell swallowed its peal. Each woven piece swallows one blow, then rests 30 seconds. On the plinths: the Bell Tongue, a bell and an amethyst shard; Echo and Still in the vessels.
