A Samara Hood guards you from falls: falls do not hurt at all, from any height, and from a height you fall half as fast as usual — not a glide, but time to look around. It needs no charge: protection that runs out would fail you over a cliff. It is worn on the head.
A fall speeds up as usual, but the hood falls no faster than six tenths of a block a tick: forty blocks take three and a half seconds instead of under two, a hundred take eight and a half instead of three; jumps and steps off a ledge stay the same. After eight blocks of falling, down streams behind your shoulders. The hood guards the head poorly, and no helmet goes over it; it is worn together with Gale Treads, the Vane Mantle and the Freshet Mantle. Its two brass-ribbed wings are cut like lumenash samaras.
