The Sanguine Weald gives Bloom without brewing. Sap veins glow on the bark of old sanguine aspens: a bottle at such a vein fills with heartsap (Bloom 3, Soul 1), and the vein heals and fills again in a few days. Heartsap goes into the Crucible and tonics; drunk like honey, it heals for a couple of heartbeats.
Where to look: in place of a dark forest — a crimson canopy over pale trunks, dusk beneath it and almost black leafmold. Every eight seconds all the veins of the weald flash at once — that beat gives it away. Candlecaps on the trunks are light without torches: plant them on any log. Sanguine slate and the dark wine aspen planks make a dark warm house. Heartsap and planks make the Heartsap Lamp.
