Sentinels are dangerous shadows of heavy Dissonance and wardens of the Stillness: a blow takes a second from you, a cry leaves Ripple. The first Vowkeepers of the Order froze with the Great Stilling and have stepped once a second ever since, on the beat of their hour. From afar a Sentinel casts a Still Bolt that lurches on the beat of the hour: step out of its path while it hangs.
