A Summing Plaque holds the seals of the way into the Heart of the loop and of the Summing Niches. Its sum burns in it — a compound current; Tally Dials sit on the wall beside it. Turn each dial with an empty hand to the rune of a Spring or a Pole, press the plaque — and if the dials together are what the sum is made of on the Wheel, the seals crumble.

The sum is what it is made of, not what it looks like: keep the Wheel open. If the dials add up to another current — "the sum does not reconcile": the plaque strikes with that current and stays dark for three seconds. If they add up to nothing — only a puff of murk.
