Unweaving Cloth moves an enchantment from a thing into a book whole, at the same level — a grindstone would erase it. The cloth is sewn of flux cloth, and its flux thread can be drawn back out. Lay the cloth, a thing and a plain book on a crafting table: the cloth draws one enchantment out of the thing and lays it into the book. What comes out shows in the slot before you take it; the thing keeps all the rest.

The cloth draws the finest thread first — the rarest enchantment: Silk Touch, Mending or Fortune before Unbreaking and Sharpness; at equal rarity, the higher level. Curses it leaves alone. An enchanted book with several enchantments the cloth splits: the rare one goes into a plain book.

Without a book the cloth unravels the thing's last weaving: it is gone, and the strain goes with it. Enchantments it does not take without a book — a grindstone can wipe them all.

A cloth holds twenty-four threads. A transfer costs a thread per level, a forgotten enchantment twice that, a weaving three. The cloth gives back no distillate and no experience: what is taken does not flow back into the vessels, and the book takes the anvil's work cost from the thing.
