Distillate
Pages of the entry
A vial carries distillate where no siphon reaches: scoop eight parts in one place and pour them out in another. It is a narrow tube of glass under a copper stopper. A vial used on a vessel, an Alembic or a Gyre scoops as much as fits: from a vessel its current, from a Gyre the fullest one, and into a vial that already holds distillate only its own current. A vial does not scoop from a Crucible: it is not a store.
When there is nothing to scoop — the vial is full, or its current is not there — it pours out instead: into a vessel, a Gyre or the Crucible, as much as they take. In the Crucible what is poured mixes by the rules of the Wheel. A vial thrown into the Crucible dissolves with what it holds. A vessel carried in hand pours the same way (the "Distillate" entry).
