Addition devices
The Wellspring, Dawn and Dusk Pillars, Crystal Tapper, Murk Fumer, Cradle of Currents, Stamp Mill, current crops and crossing, Still Rye, the Self-Rising Loaf, the Still Anvil and Still Cast, the Shard Lantern and Opaline Lamp.
Small devices and things that do one job well: water the land with flux, turn murk into flux and back, cut crystals, cast creatures, pound shards, grow current crops. Almost all of them draw the flux of their chunk, but never below the bed floor.

Flux and murk
Wellspring — a siphon above pours Halo distillate into it; each share is 4 flux into the chunk, but not above
one and a half beds. The Loupe: "Gives the land Halo" or "The land is full". From a chunk filled above five quarters of its bed,
flux flows to the neighbors twice as fast (Flood) — the Wellspring waters the whole area instead of piling flux in one chunk.
Dawn Pillar works from dawn to noon: every 30 s a pinch of murk into flux (one time in twenty it slips,
half a pinch of murk back).
Dusk Pillar — from sunset to midnight: flux into murk, never below the bed floor.
The rune belt glows only in its own time.
Crystal Tapper every 5 s cuts a grown crystal in front of it down to a large bud and puts the shard into
a chest behind; it works only in a chunk above its bed, 2 flux per shard. A redstone signal switches it off.
Murk Fumer — holds up to 16 shares of Murk from a siphon above, a puff every 2 s. The smoke in front of the
mouth (up to 4 blocks ahead and 2 down) changes eight spots per puff: mushrooms into
Murkcap, pumpkins into
Mirekin
and the
Mire-o'-Lantern, logs into
Mirebound Log. The living in the smoke get Clouding; a settled puff is 0.25 murk.
Cradle of Currents and Imprint Tablet
- Press a wet
Imprint Tablet against a living creature — it stays unharmed, the tablet dries with the imprint of
its kind. People, masters and guardians and creatures without their own currents give no imprint. - The tablet goes into the headboard of the
Cradle of Currents, a siphon above pours the distillate of that
creature's currents — exactly enough for one birth. - Everything poured, the light at the trough no higher than 7, fewer than six of the same nearby (8 blocks) — the Cradle casts the creature at its foot.
A birth is a pinch of murk into the chunk. Cast creatures give no experience, drops of their currents run down their bodies. The same tablet in the slot of a Swirl chooses whom it pulls.
Stamp Mill
Stamp Mill pounds shards of the six primal currents into
Current Grit: three pestles strike in
turn, every third strike turns a shard into 4 pinches of Grit. The drive is Cog distillate from a siphon above, up to 16 shares,
one share per shard. Shards — by hand or a hopper from the top and side (one current at a time), Grit — empty hand or a hopper
below. A comparator reads the grit box.
Crops and food
- Current crops —
Current Seeds of any of the 42 currents; they grow only if their current or both its parents
are among the currents of the place. Bone meal — only there too. - Crop crossing: a ripe crop with a ripe neighbor whose current adds up with its own along the Wheel (Tide and Ember — Bloom) drops, one harvest in six, seeds of the combined current as well.
Still Rye Seeds — by Confluence; the rye grows like wheat, but only while nothing living moves within 8 blocks.
It takes no bone meal. Ripe, it gives seeds, a Still Grain (half the time) and rarely
Still Ergot: whoever eats
it gets a Stillness chapter note and 2 Ripple.
Self-Rising Loaf — an eaten slice grows back for 0.5 flux of the chunk; the last slice can't be eaten.
It doesn't grow back in the Stillness.
Still things
Still Anvil — a game anvil that never cracks, from use or from falling, and its repair cost doesn't climb
with every use.
Still Cast — pressed against a creature, freezes it in the rim; placed on a block, the creature thaws as it
was and no longer despawns by itself. It doesn't take people, villagers, masters, others' pets or something being ridden.
Light and decor
Shard Lantern — six primal currents, light in the shard's color. Brightness grows with the chunk's flux:
a cheap flux gauge without the Loupe.
Opaline Lamp — an Orb behind an opaline frame: a true sphere of light, water behind the lamp shows through it.
Speculum-Clad Lumenash darkens with patina over time; honeycomb stops it, an axe scrapes wax or a stage.- Carving and masonry — the Decor guide.
Keen Hearing — an effect from the Crucible (Echo and Brew on a bottle): rings of ripples spread from sound sources 2.5–32 blocks away, a loud sound nearby deafens for 3 s.
