Counterflow

The Counterflow is a weapon of distillate: the jet wounds and acts by its current, and against the opposite Spring it strikes half again as hard. It is a hand pump on a vial of distillate: keep the vial in your other hand or in your inventory. Each squeeze presses out one part, and the jet flies in an arc: Ember guards against fire, Drift hastens, Gloom blinds.

Counterflow: when the jet's Spring is opposite the Spring of the creature's leading current — Tide against a fiery beast, Ember against a drowned — the blow is half as strong again, and a pinch of murk sinks into the ground beneath the target, as with a clash in the Crucible. A loupe tells the target's leading current.
