A trim gives armor a look, not protection: a smithing table lays the pattern of a smithing template on a piece of armor in the color of a material — an ingot or a crystal. The pattern goes onto the game's armor and the mod's alike: on each set it follows the set's own model, where the game's armor would carry the same pattern (on the cuirass, the shoulders, the belt, the boots). The template is used up.
Four Fluxion templates lie where their patterns were born. Rill — streams of a current running from a spring on the crown — in Reckoner Locks. Spoke — the Wheel of Currents on the chest and a notched rim — in the vaults of the Meanders. Whorl — a spiral and thread wound around the shoulders and shins — in the workshops of Fluxionist's Homesteads. Hoarfrost — frost ferns and a rim of ice — in the treasury of the City of Midstep in the Stillness.
A Flux Workbench copies a template: the template itself, three diamonds, four opaline and the stone or cloth of its place give two templates — for the flux of the place and its Source. Opaline holds the drawing while the flux carries it onto the new blank.
